Daily writing prompt
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Dear 5-year-old me,
I still remember our lofty dreams
Of charcoal and papers, and creative schemes.
When we grow up, we want to be artists, free and bold,
But somewhere along the way, our dreams were put on hold.
Life got busy, self-doubts played a part and my responsibilities grew,
But somehow our passion for art still shines through.
We may have faltered, stumbled, or fallen,
But we never gave up hope, always breaking out of our shell.
The spark inside us still burns bright,
Through all the struggles, it never lost its light.
We may not have become famous or yet known by our name,
But our love for art remains the same.
So dear 5-year-old me, I want you to know.
Our dreams of being an artist continue to grow.
We may have taken a different path, but that's okay.
If we never give up on our dreams, they'll always stay.
