How To Overcome The Fear of Starting Something New And Take That Leap of Faith

Have you ever been so scared of starting something new that you just couldn’t take the leap of faith? But fear doesn’t have to be the end of the story. With a dash of courage and determination, it’s possible to overcome fear and take that leap. By understanding why you are afraid, facing your fear head-on, developing a plan of action, and making a commitment, you can start to tackle the fear that’s been holding you back. You can find the strength to take that leap and start something brand-new.

Understanding why you’re afraid

I have always dreamed of writing a book. However, year after year I let the fear of the unknown, fear of failure, and fear of the consequences stop me from achieving this goal. Lately, I have been asking myself, Why am I afraid? What am I afraid of? What do I have to lose, and what do I have to gain from following through? Am I willing to let fear stop me from pursuing my dream of writing a bestseller?

Face your fears head-on

Facing your fears will not only help you to overcome them, but it will also help you to build confidence in yourself. It will take time, perseverance, and a lot of courage. But it can be done. For me, it’s about staying focused on the finish line; presenting you with a token of my dedication, and saying, “Yes, I did it.” I hope you’ll find this book inspiring and nurturing.

Develop a plan of action

Writing a book can be a daunting task, but with the right planning and motivation, anyone can write a successful book. There will be challenges along the way, but it will be worth it, I’m sure. The anticipation and uncertainty of what might happen throughout the journey can be enough to scare anyone away. By developing a plan of action, you’ll be able to identify the challenges you might face and start to work out how to overcome them.

Learning to trust yourself

It takes time to learn how to trust yourself and your abilities. With some patience and practice, it becomes easier to trust those nudges and follow through with being the person you want to be. You learn to embrace every situation and circumstance with love and appreciation instead of doubt and worry. Eventually, clearing old energy, getting into deep reflection, aligning your vibration, and connecting with your inner muse.

Reframe fear as excitement

Fear is scary while excitement is positive and invigorating. So I’m reframing my fear of writing this book and viewing it as excitement and motivation for what’s ahead. It’s like I’m three months pregnant and breaking the news to the world. I can’t wait to give birth and hold my baby! The delivery date is expected in early summer (lol).

Making a commitment

Stay tune, each week I will share my progress and a sneak peek at the artwork I am working on. No, this will not be another art book on how to make art. This is a personal journey and my first official collection, so it’s necessary to see it through. Only I can turn my dreams into reality. Everything I need to make it possible is inside of me. My future self will thank me for showing up each day and creating a piece of art and writing. Subscribe to my blog and follow me on Instagram for updates.

 Until next time…
