Can you look yourself in the eyes and genuinely say, “I love you”? It is so easy for us to give love, be patient, and be kind to others but not to ourselves. We often struggle to show ourselves the same kindness and compassion we so freely give to others. Why is it so hard to show ourselves the same love and understanding?

If I ask you to list all the things and people you love, how long will it take you to name yourself? Can you name five things you love about yourself? Are you a priority in your life? Every day, you should focus on caring for yourself as you care for others. How you view, treat, and feel about yourself is essential to your health & well-being. Hence, it is imperative to make time for yourself daily. Take the time to listen to your body, walk in nature, or do whatever your soul desires.
My daily self-care consists of nourishing my body, meditating, belly dancing, listening to my favorite music journal, walking, reading, making jewelry, drawing, and (or) painting. For you, self-love may look different, such as relaxing after a long day to your favorite candle scent. You can organize or rearrange your space, buy flowers, spend quality time with friends or family, drink more water, etc.
Self-love is crucial for emotional health. It is the key to loving yourself, knowing your worth, strengths, and weaknesses, and accepting yourself for who you are. Regardless of the challenges you face or how chaotic your days may seem, it helps to keep you grounded, mindful, and grateful.
The more you care for yourself and make time to pause, relax, and recharge, the stronger you will be physically, mentally, and emotionally. You will be more loving and forgiving towards yourself and others. In addition, you will no longer have to seek approval. Instead, you can make your own decisions, trusting that you have all you need, and allow yourself time to heal and grow.
Until next time 🙂
